We got about an inch of cold rain this afternoon, so I was checking the Lamb Brigade more regularly than usual to make sure everyone was ok. Wednesday’s twins were gamely following their mom around as she grazed, nursing almost constantly to get the energy to stay warm.
During the mid-afternoon check, I started to get worried when I couldn’t find Lefty. His mother tends to “park” him somewhere while she grazes, so they’re not attached at the hip like the other two ewes with their lambs, but they’re usually within sight of one another.
I began to fear that a hungry owl might have carried him off, but it turns out that the ewe was just a couple of steps ahead of me: she had parked him in Bravo’s doghouse to stay dry.
