This morning, as the second hot spell of the season was steaming up, nine of the spring lambs decided to assert their independence. Cass and I took almost half an hour to get everyone reunited with the flock, and by the end of it, she was thinking about overheating. Thankfully, she’s learned that the sheep’s water dish is good for emergency cooling.
This evening I look the pups to Bolster Pond, on the other side of Sullivan, for some cooling off and stick chasing. After perhaps 45 minutes in the chilly pond, Cass was shivering violently and hunched over with cold, yet begging me to throw the stick One More Time. (Chloe still isn’t quite sure how the game works.)
She doesn’t traverse these extremes every day, but I think she’d like to.
