I’m still trying to figure out how time works here.  “See you in the morning” often means 10:30, but when Keith Short said he’d bring a load of hay “in the morning, not too early,” it meant a 7:45 arrival, barely 20 minutes after sunrise.  It’s late in the season to be buying hay, so I’m grateful that Keith has beautiful, fragrant stuff and isn’t charging 5th Avenue prices.  I’m also grateful for the rusty old hay elevator I bought from the previous owners of the farm; it’s 9°F out, and my hands aren’t working well enough to even imagine throwing bales up to the hay loft.
