Bravo, Cleo, and the rest of the flock have settled in with no difficulties in the new pasture.  I expected the guardian dogs to be particularly barky during the first couple of nights as they were getting used to their new setting, but my hosts said they didn’t hear a peep.  It was particularly hot yesterday, so B&C commandeered a shady spot.

Bravo & Cleo hot day-29-3

By evening, though, they were back to bouncing.

I continue to be amazed at how all the animals have gotten acclimated to one another.  When the sheep arrived in November, they had never been around a guardian dog, and Bravo was a wild, sheep-chasing adolescent who inspired no confidence in his flock.  And Cleo acts like she’s always been here as well.  The biggest remaining challenge is that Bravo can’t resist chasing the border collies while they’re working; Cass loses her focus, and then her sheep, and Chloe just runs behind my legs.  So Bravo still gets tethered when there’s serious sheep-moving to do.

Sheep eating alder-0172Cleo, bless her gentle soul, pretends she’s a sheep and just moves with the flock.
