I’m not very good at naming, so I was delighted that my new place already had a name.  Hollow Oak Farm is a perfectly respectable and serious name, and the eponymous red oak keeps watch from one of the high points on the land.

Curiously, the sign out front depicts leaves and acorns from a white oak, a species that doesn’t grow in the immediate area.  I suspect this may be a clue to understanding some of the other curious bits of infrastructure on the farm, like the rabbit hutch capping the well head in the door yard.
